North American Food Systems Network (NAFSN) is a professional association connecting people to opportunities and resources to promote resilient local and regional food systems in the advancement of equity and healthful food access for all. The core values uniting members of the North American Food Systems Network are community, collaboration, innovation, integrity, justice, equity, productivity, education, and resilience.Â
NAFSN envisions a future in which food systems practitioners have the knowledge, resources, and support for effectively leading the development of resilient local and regional food systems; systems that both offer rewarding and economically-viable opportunities for producers, processors, and other players and provide healthful, safe, reliable, affordable, ecologically-sound, and culturally-appropriate food for all.
NSFSN is a project of the Center for Transformative Action, an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization affiliated with Cornell University and located on the original land of the Gayogohó:no’ (Cayuga) Nation in the current United States of America.
There are several NAFSN webinar series found under their events page. Be sure to look at their archive as well as their upcoming events and sign up for alerts to be notified of new events. There are many sessions by Dietitians and Nutritionists, and many more of interest. Most are free and recorded.
There is a membership option with a sliding scale so that almost anyone interested is able to join.

NAFSN strives to provide a solid foundation for effective, transparent, inclusive governance and follows a sociocratic-circle organizing method based on a simple & elegant set of principles:
- circular, not hierarchical;
- autonomous initiatives;
- inward and outward flows of information;
- integrated administration;
- decision-making by consent.
