Feeding 9 Billion is a food security initiative based out of the University of Guelph (UofG), providing insight, outreach, and education around issues of food, agriculture, and hunger globally. They work to offer objective, evidence-based information in an accessible manner for all.
They are particularly dedicated to working with youth, helping them to improve the food system of the future. This means that they focus on creating value for students at each stage of the process.
It’s not only that their tools are designed to be accessible and engaging for young learners. They have also created free lesson plans to help educators implement the resources in the classroom, and the UofG encourages student involvement in researching and designing materials as well.
This website is based on the work of a well respected sustainable food researcher. While the evidence used is not necessarily in each of the tools, one is able to trace it. The website is dynamic, so check back for updates. The perspective is global, and synthesized and communicated through a perspective reflective of North American and European culture.
