Submitting an Article

Articles for the March issue are due January 31. National Dietetic Association news is scheduled from the Representatives of Argentina (2 Members), Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Caribbean, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece (2 Members) and People’s Republic of China (Hong Kong), Benin.

Articles for the July issue are due May 31. National Dietetic Association news is scheduled from the Representatives of Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxemborg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands and New Zealand.

Newsletter Editor

Chika Ndiokwelu, is a dietitian-nutritionist in Nigeria. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in 1978 and started her professional career as a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian in 1979. She went on to obtain a Master of Science degree and Doctor of philosophy (PhD), in Human Nutrition.

She practiced for 35 years in the clinical settings as a registered dietitian and rose to the peak of her profession and retired in 2014 as a Deputy Director (Dietetics) from the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku/Ozalla, Enugu State. She was equally a part-time lecturer at the Departments of Medicine and Community Medicine respectively, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, Enugu State. She has made several presentations at national and international conferences and workshops. She has equally published several articles in reputable journals in her field. She is currently a Contract lecturer at the Nutrition and Dietetics unit, Department of Biochemistry, University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.

 

Chika has been a Consultant on Nutrition to WHO, UNICEF and the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria where she has been a lead consultant involved in the production of several national documents such as Guidelines, Policy documents, Training Manuals and Modules.  She is also a consultant in the diet, nutrition and wellness field and is involved in speaking engagements in her field of competence for corporate organizations. She consults for various hospitals and writes for some print and electronic media. She features regularly in state and national radio and television programmes as a guest artist.

Dr Chika Ndiokwelu is a member of key professional organizations in Nutrition and Dietetics in Nigeria, Chika was the National Secretary of Nigerian Dietetic Association, National President, Dietitians Association of Nigeria from 2009- 2013 and Vice Chairperson, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Enugu State Branch. She is currently the ICDA representative for Nigeria and the new editor of the ICDA newsletter (Dietetics Around the World) from December, 2016.
