Activities

  • The ICDA Communication Committee’s purpose is to provide timely communications to National Dietetic Associations (NDA)s, increase visibility of the ICDA and promote ICDA membership to non-NDA members.
  • The ICDA Communications Committee includes two subcommittees: the Marketing Committee and the Social Media Committee.
  • The ICDA Communication Committee is chaired by an ICDA Board Member.  The other members are volunteers that have been facilitated through the NDAs or invited by the ICDA Board.
  • For specific projects additional members maybe recruited to help complete such projects, set up as task and finish project groups. This allows the opportunity for other members to be involved who may wish to then apply to join the Communications Committee when there are vacancies.

  • Each member of the communications committee is appointed for a period of 4years alongside the tenure of the ICDA Board; with the maximum of half of the committee stepping down at any one time to enable continuity and support for new members.  If there are no new volunteers for the committee, then the current committee members may be asked to continue for another term or till such time new members can join.

  • Provide input to the BOD about revision of the ICDA Website.
  • The Committee Chair sends out a Communique to NDAs three times a year (Jan-April, May-Aug, Sept-Dec). The Communique is approximately 1-2 pages and includes the following sections: Take Action, Updates, Reminders, and the names and email of the Communique Writer, the Board of Directors Chair, and other persons who may have helped with the Communique.  Prior to writing a Communique the Chair of the Communication Committee sends an email to Board of Directors (BOD) members.

About the Communications Committee

We are a committee of 10 and always interested to hear from other members who may be interested in joining. When we have any committee vacancies, we will be posting this on our social media channel and website and through our regular newsletters/Communique. If you have an interest in communications and have experience in this area this is a great opportunity to put your skills into action and at the same time support other dietitians in our international community.

Opportunities will be arising in September 2024 to join the team with 1-2 additional members, more information about how to apply will follow in early Spring 2024 so please watch this space.

We have two sub-committees of the Communications Committee but we sometimes need to have smaller task and finish groups.
